Halloween Skull Cake

Things You’ll Need:


  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs (at room temp)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-1/2 cups canned pumpkin (not pie filling)


  • Heat oven to 325º F. 
  • Spray Skull Pan with vegetable pan spray and flour lightly. 
  • Place Skull Pan onto baking sheet.
  • In small bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg. 
  • In large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. 
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Add vanilla and beat in.
  • Add some of the flour mixture and then some of the pumpkin and repeat adding all.
  • Mix well.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake 65-75 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
  • Cool 15 minutes in pan and then turn onto cooling rack. 
  • Cool completely before serving.

Yield: About 16 servings
