2012 GINGERBREAD HOUSE COMPETITION

Put your creative baking hat on. Galt House Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky announces the 2012 Gingerbread House Contest! Enter your gingerbread house at the Galt House Hotel and have the chance to win a cash prize. All entries must be 100% edible with the only exception being the base. Judging will be based on the following: originality, creativity, holiday theme, architecture, construction and appearance. There is no entry fee for Amateur Adult and/or Amateur Child category. The entry fee for the Professional category is $25 per house.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to all ages, but anyone younger than the age of eighteen (18) by the date of the competition, a signature from a parent or legal guardian is required in conjunction with the minor’s signature.

Enter your best recipe using store bought dough. You can use bread dough, cookie dough, puff pastry, crescent rolls, dinner rolls, phyllo dough, biscuits, pie pastry, pizza dough or sweet roll dough. Your recipe can be used in any meal category, whether it is a breakfast pastry or an appetizer or a dinner entree.
